Another late posting, written 9/26/24.
This has been a question but I didn't realize how contentious it was with plenty of accusations of outright lying. And coverup, of course.
The Republican-led House Oversight subcommittee tried to announce and spin information from interviews held by the Jan. 6 special committee. The Oversight memo is a complete spin job, pretending that military officials didn't prepare because of 'optics,' but actually DoD officials had vetoed standard prep, allowed guard movements only on their explicit command, and then dropped the ball in a panic when it was needed. Of course Trump wasn't on the phone pushing them to fix it now either.
Their report truncates quotes from General Milley that Trump wanted to be sure it was a safe event. Yes, but for 'his people.' He expressed no concern about the Capitol.
It seems like the DOD people and Army top staff and secretary were delaying the order for the National Guard to deploy, and then covering it up in their testimony. The top official lawyer for the NG general William Walker told their version in the Matthews memo. The official Army version (from the high-ups) was that the NG wasn't ready, and the high-ups had to devise a plan on the fly. Walker disputes this. (Matthews memo, full text pdf.
